Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)

Prescription Therapy

Standard regimen: 0.5 mg OD × 3 days → 0.5 mg BID × 4 days → 1 mg BID × 12 weeks. Start 1–2 weeks before quit date.
GI side effect note: If nausea occurs, reduce to 0.5 mg BID. Take with food and full glass of water.
ODB LU Code 423 — Eligibility: ≥10 CPD, willing to set quit date, enrolled in counselling program.
Standard regimen: 150 mg OD × 3 days → 150 mg BID × 12 weeks. Start 1–2 weeks before quit date. Allow ≥8 hours between doses.
ODB LU Code 423 — Same eligibility criteria as Varenicline.
